小朋友從學習中找到了樂趣 Children enjoy learning with fun

很多時候人們都說要鸁在起跑線，可是父母英文水平一般，不懂得教導小朋友英語，還有甚麼方法？一個好老師讓小朋友愛上了學習，從只懂得幾個單詞，到一個月後能完整回答簡單問題。

小朋友性格害羞，慢熱，膽小。還記得第一次帶她到外面的兒童中心學英文，她因為很少接觸英語，對新環境，陌生的語言感到恐懼。一下課，她便跑過來對我大哭，她因為完全聽不懂老師的話而哭了，她還說上課其間很想念媽媽(明明只是短短一小時，平日在學校上課也未試過的)。因為一次的經歷她便討厭了英語。

直至最近學校又再次因疫情停課，連網上授課也暫停了，不希望女兒每天待在家中，希望給她找些興趣班，在網上認識了AmazingTalker這個程式，可以在家陪伴着小孩上課，每堂還能選擇25分鐘，適合初學沒有耐性的小朋友。看到有免費試課，於是與小朋友商量後，讓她試了幾堂課。起初感覺也一般，小朋友覺得較沉悶。

後來遇到了一位很喜歡小朋友的老師，Miss Lj老師，老師很有耐心，即使孩子最初不懂英語，不感興趣，上課總是東張西望的，老師也總會臉帶笑容，溫柔地叫着孩子的名子'Abi, Abi…'，也會跟她玩遊戲，唱兒歌，了解小朋友的興趣和喜好，跟她討論她喜歡的卡通、食物、玩具……吸引孩子的興趣，讓小朋友能輕鬆學習，不感壓力。

更意想不到的是來自菲律賓的老師竟然會說一點點廣東話，在課堂中老師能以廣東話輔助教導，對完全不懂英語的小朋友來說，不但更容易學習，還有親切感，減少了以往的恐懼。

到現在，小朋友會主動要求要上課，她喜歡輕鬆的課堂，她喜歡在家裏上課，她喜歡十分友善的老師，每天25分鐘的英語課變成了孩子最愛的歡樂時光。

課後老師還有提供一些小筆記，讓家長了解孩子的學習進度，還有一些自願性做的小功課提供。

雖然只上了短短半個多月，但有老師的適心教導，加上每天上課，自主温習，看英語卡通，小朋友的英文進步了不少。以前只懂得A至Z和幾個簡單的單詞，現在孩子已經能以英語進行完整句子的簡單對答，詞彙亦增加了不少。

即將要升上小學的女兒讓我放心了不少，相信面試的英語問題應該難不了她。英文是國際性語言，幾乎全球通用，而且語言是一生的，畢生受用，從少學習較長大後更易吸收。

十份開心小朋友遇到喜歡的老師，從學習中找到了樂趣。想信有很多家長也遇到孩子學習新語言的難題，真的能試試看不同的老師，讓孩子輕鬆愉快地學習。

Parents always want their childrens to be at the starting line, but some parents are average in English and don't know how to teach their children English. What else is there to do? A good teacher makes children fall in love with learning, from knowing only a few words to being able to answer simple questions in complete sentences a month later.

My kid is shy, slow to warm up, and timid. I still remember the first time I took her to the children's center to learn English. She was afraid of the new environment and unfamiliar with new language. After class, she ran over to me and cried. She cried because she couldn't understand what the teacher said at all. She also said that she missed me very much during the class (it was only an hour, and she had never cried at school). She hated English because of that experience.

Until recently, the school was closed again due to the epidemic, and even online teaching was suspended. I didn’t want my daughter to stay at home every day, and I hoped to find some extra classes for her. I met the AmazingTalker program on the Internet, and I can accompany my children in class at home. Also, I can choose 25-minutes lesson, which is suitable for children who are impatient at the beginning. I saw that there were free trial classes, so after discussing with my kid, I signed her up for a few trial classes. At first, I felt normal and my kid felt a bit dull.

Later, I met a teacher who likes children very much, Miss Lj. The teacher is very patient. Even if my kid does not know English at first and is not interested, she always looks around in class. However, The teacher always smiles and calls the my kid's name 'Abi, Abi...' gently. She will also play games with her, sing nursery rhymes, learn about her interests and preferences, and discuss with her about her favorite cartoons, food, toys... to attract her interest and make her easy to learn , she does not feel pressure.

What is even more unexpected is that the teacher from the Philippines can speak a little Cantonese. During the lesson, the teacher can use Cantonese as an auxiliary teaching. For children who do not know English at all, it is not only easier to learn, but also has a sense of intimacy. This passed the fear of the kid.

Up to now, children will take the initiative to ask for classes. She likes the classes which full of fun, she likes classes at home, and she likes the friendly teachers. The 25-minute English class every day has become the kid's favorite happy moment.

After class, the teacher also provides some small notes to let parents know the child's learning progress, as well as some voluntary homework.

Although I have only been on the lessons for more than half a month, with the teacher's comfortable teaching, plus daily classes, self-review, and watching English cartoons, my kid's English has improved a lot. In the past, he only knew A to Z and a few vocabularies, but now she has been able to complete simple sentences in English, and her vocabularies has also enriched a lot.

My daughter, who is about to enter elementary school, has given me a lot of peace of mind. I believe that the English question in the interview should not be difficult for her. English is an international language, almost universal, and the language is lifelong and can be used for whole life. It is easier for kids to learn english than growing up.

I'm happy that my kid met her favorite teacher and found joy in learning. It is believe that many parents also encounter the problem of their children learning a new language. I suggest that they can really try different teachers and let their children learn easily and happily.
